Slide Discharge The Slide Discharge of the Fp Series of mixers, is adjustable. Not only can you feed on the slab with the slide discharge you can feed over low bunks. The slide is made from UHMW plastic. Should an object be hit during feeding, the damage to the discharge or object is greatly reduced. The optional magnet is securely bolted in the UHMW slide the same as a metal drop spout. FSI once again leads the feeding industry with an idea that will be copied by others. Need We Say More? One of the areas of greatest maintenance on a mixer is the discharge system. With our slide discharge, some of the parts we have eliminated are discharge augers, bearings, gearbox, ujoints, chains and sprockets. Less is more. While others talk about low maintenance, we don't have all those parts to maintain. A fast even discharge is a plus you won't soon forget!! A hydraulic drive discharge system is available when feeding in a bunk or over a row of bales. However, most of our customers choose our slide system. Auger Inserts FSI was one of the first to use "knives" as an integral part of bottom augers. The New Series of knives used by FSI will process a greater range of dry forages. Yet at the same time it doesn't reduce the hay in your ration to powder. When you combine these knives with the variable speed of a hydrostatic drive, you can process the forage and still get the length your nutritionist likes. Control Console None like it! The information you need to better operate your mixer and truck is just a glance away. Dual hour meters for the truck engine displays the total hours the truck has ran since installation of the Fp mixer, the other meter is reset after the truck has been serviced. Three Murphy gauges are used to monitor engine temperature, oil pressure and air filter. Should the preset limits be exceeded, a buzzer will sound for 30 seconds and then the engine will shut down. The other side of the console contains an hour meter which displays the number of hours the mixer has operated. The pressure gauge shows what pressure is required to operate the mixer. Two red lights show if the hydrostatic oil temperature exceeds operating range, or is the oil level below recommended level, they too will operate the buzzer and 30 seconds later the engine shuts down. The handle on the side of the console, is a variable speed control for the mixer. You can set the mixing speed to just level the load while you are filling, or at full speed a complete mix in 31/2 minutes.. Oil Reservoir & Cooler The oil reservoir, mounted on the side of the mixer is out of the way and still easy to get to. A sight gauge for oil level and a temperature gauge are mounted on the end of the tank. When the mixer isn't being used during cold weather an electric oil heater is provided as standard equipment, to maintain startup oil temperature. Three separate spin-on oil filters are used to filter 100 percent of all oil flowing through the hydrostatic pump and motor. The thermal switch installed in the cooler return hose, turns the cooling fan on and off as needed. When the cooler needs cleaning it is easy to get to. The breather for the system used an 'oil filter type element' to prevent contaminates from entering through the breather. Hydrostatic Pump Hydrostatic pumps and motors are not new, or even the idea of using them on mixers. We know of experimental units that were tried in the late 60's. FSI has been developing the application of their hydrostatic package for more than 2 years. We feel our system is the best available! The custom manufactured front bumper and guard protect the pump and only "sticks out" 20 inches. This is only the start of the system.
